A curated selection of Hawaiian essays.
The Hūlili Journal was a project that I could work independently on for weeks at a time while juggling other hot projects and daily tasks.
I would spend hours reading and learning about Hawaiian culture, highlighting everything that I’d need to typeset later on like italicized Hawaiian words or indented songs (mele). These books also required the design of numerous charts and graphs that matched the look and feel of the existing layout.
